Over 20 years, Kaoru has facilitated over 20,000 people in non-verbal and verbal workshops.
In 2007, she encountered the concept of “learning organizations” and the Whole Systems Approach, and since then, she has been supporting the creation of vibrant organizations. While conducting various unique training programs, she has also provided many opportunities for leaders, facilitators, and change agents to improve their “way of being.
She has been a lecturer at the College of Community and Human Services, Rikkyo University (facilitation studies) since 2021 and an adjunct lecturer at the MBA School for social entrepreneurs, Sagami Women’s University (organizational development exercises) since 2023.

As a securities analyst for more than 20 years, Mami analyzed Japanese, Korean, and Chinese companies and local governments at foreign financial institutions, etc., using a bottom-up approach that emphasizes interviews.
In addition, as the head of a department organizing a team of analysts, she encountered the Whole System Approach in 2007, while striving to support and utilize her team members who were constantly working under high stress.
Interested in creating connections among people across regions and organizations, she retired from the company in 2009. Currently, through Appreciative Inquiry, a Whole Systems Approach, and Art of Hosting, an educational practice of participatory leadership, she supports organizations, communities, and individuals in them to create the soil in which they can demonstrate their own attractiveness.
Mami is a representative of Sanca Process Design, a specially-appointed professor at Sagami Women’s University Graduate School for social entrepreneurs, a qualification committee member of the NPO “The Most Beautiful Village in Japan” Coalition, and a board member of Yokohama Bank.
MSC in Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management; Ph. D, Hokkkaido University. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University’s Appreciative Inquiry certification course and is a certified facilitator of the FORTH Innovation Method. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through CTI and a Certified Financial Analyst with the CFA Society of America and a member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.
Alliance Partner: Yuko Gendo
After graduating from university, Yuko worked for a major travel company. After changing jobs to an IT company, she participated in projects to introduce systems and reform business operations as an ERP consultant. Her experience of working on over 20 projects and setting up and managing NPO organizations led her to become interested in “demonstrating the power of teams with diverse members”, and she began to study the fields of facilitation and organizational development, becoming a practitioner.
In 2023, she began teaching a course on “visual communication” using the internet. She is the co-author of the book “Miro Kakumei: A New Form of Collaborative Creation through Visual Communication” (published by Metabrain).
Through dialogue, Yuko aims to discover and nurture the value that exists here and now, to increase the number of people who can show kindness to themselves, and to shed light on areas that have not yet come to the fore. She is mainly active as a facilitator who introduces dialogue into corporate organizations. IAF Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF™), CRR Certified ORSC™ coach, IAF Japan Board Member.
